Album Review: Wild Light - Adult Nights
Wild Light
Adult Nights
Startime Interational, 2009
Melodies pass like endless mile markers, each as interchangeable and utterly inconsequential as the last. Innocuous wordplay about bone marrow, (doubtlessly boring) parties, relatives, other things are delivered in store-brand Bright Eyes warble. I'm certain they listed Arcade Fire in their MySpace influences before the slick record label revamp. The most insipid, uninspiring, and instantly forgettable thing I've heard all year. The only thing keeping me awake is the realization that money changed hands so that these exquisite farts could make their way to my speakers. Kids, don't give up on your dreams.
